Gov. Pritzker Rolls Out 1B Vaccine Distribution Plan

About 3.2 million additional Illinoisans, including agriculture workers, will be eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine as the state moves into the 1B distribution phase, Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced Wednesday.

The 1B phase includes frontline essential workers and all individuals 65 and older. Among those now eligible are agriculture (ag input industry), police and public safety workers, teachers and school staff, manufacturing, grocery store workers, public transmit, postal and correctional officers.

The next phase, Phase 1B, will begin once the state has "substantially completed" the first phase, phase 1A. This could take several weeks at a minimum.  Gov Pritzker also said he will use the Illinois National Guard to organize mass vaccination sites across the state. The state is also bringing on additional partners specifically to ensure the vaccine is available in historically marginalized areas of the state.

IFCA will immediately share any new details when ag workers can receive the vaccine.
