Bills of Interest to IFCA Members

The Illinois General Assembly has been busy introducing thousands of pieces of legislation as well as dealing with concealed carry for firearms and long overdue pension reform.  IFCA has identified several bills of key interest to our industry that we are actively engaged in on your behalf.  This includes legislation seeking to require the labeing of all foods sold in Illinois that contain genetically modified ingredients, which we oppose, to changes in the Weights & Measures Act seeking to bring clarity and consistency to the regulation of truck scales by IDA, which we support.  Click here http://www.ifca.com/legislativeupdates/ to view those bills, IFCA's position and you can link to the bill text and read them for yourself.  You can always go to the IFCA homesite at www.ifca.com and look in the upper right handcorner for "Legislative Updates" and watch the progress of these bills.

If you have any questions please contact Kevin Johnson or Jean Payne at the IFCA office.  We will continue to keep you posted on the progress of this legislation and call upon you to reach out to your legislators at critical moments.
