A high number of anhydrous ammonia releases during application and transportation in conjunction with several users hospitalized for anhydrous ammonia injuries this year has prompted IEPA and IDA to ask IFCA to develop a new online NH3 training program for farmers.  The training program, which is voluntary, will also include a new 15 minute training video and should take only approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour to complete.  Once completed the user will have the option to receive a certificate of completion.  IFCA is working with Illinois Farm Bureau, Illinois Corn Growers Association and Illinois Department of Ag to develop the training program and video which is expected to be completed by January 2013.  If you have any questions about the program, please contact Kevin at the IFCA office.
