Pesticide Container Recycling Schedule
The Illinois Department of Agriculture begins its annual pesticide container recycling program on Tuesday, July 31 with the first collection site at Pittsfield, IL. This program is designed for containers of 30 gallons or less, with the main emphasis on 2.5 gallon jugs. Click here http://www.ifca.com to go directly to the IFCA home page and pull up the "Illinois Department of Agriculture Recycling Schedule" to view the collection dates, locations and instructions for cleaning the containers. Collections continue throughout the State until August 31 but there are also four permanent sites where you can take containers. More information is posted at the link.
IFCA is also ready to offer our annual recycling program for pesticide minibulks, but we need feedback from our members to determine the demand. If you have 25 or more minibulks to recycle, please contact IFCA at 309.827.2774. Based on input from you, we can best determine where to locate collection sites for minibulks. We need 200 or more minibulks for each collection site to make it feasible. If certain areas of the state indicate a need, we will work to find a centralized location in the demand area and once again offer this valuable service to our members.
