2026 Illinois Agrichemical Container Recycling Program

The Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA) is once again offering agrichemical container recycling opportunities across the state this summer, helping Illinois agriculture continue its commitment to environmental stewardship and responsible waste management. The 2026 Illinois Agrichemical Container Recycling Program will begin July 16 and continue through August 5 at collection sites throughout Illinois.

To be accepted, all containers must be properly cleaned and prepared prior to delivery. Participants should remember the following requirements:
  • Containers must be completely empty
  • Containers must be triple-rinsed or pressure-rinsed immediately after use
  • Caps, labels, foil seals, fittings, and metal components must be removed
  • Containers must be dry and free of residue
  • Mini-bulk and bulk containers must be cut according to program guidelines
  • Metal and household pesticide containers are not accepted
Permanent collection locations are available year-round at Logan Agri Service, Inc. in Griggsville, Klein Flying Service in Lawrenceville, and Klein Flying Service in Carmi.
