IFCA Remembers: Wayne Borrenpohl
We are saddened to share the passing of Wayne Borrenpohl of Venedy, Illinois, who passed away at his home on April 23, 2026, at the age of 75.
Wayne was a lifelong advocate for agriculture and a respected leader in the industry. A graduate of Okawville High School and SIU-Carbondale, he co-founded Terayne Ag Specialties and served as its President for over four decades. He was an active member of the Illinois Fertilizer and Chemical Association, the Ag Retailers Association, and the Illinois Propane Gas Association.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Wayne was deeply committed to his community, serving as Venedy Township Supervisor and as a longtime member—and President—of the Okawville Fire Protection Board. He was also a devoted member of St. Salvator Lutheran Church.
Wayne will be remembered by many within IFCA as a familiar and friendly face at meetings and events over the years. His steady presence, willingness to share knowledge, and genuine support of the industry made a lasting impact on our association and its members.
He is survived by his wife, Janis; his children and grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Salvator Lutheran Church in Venedy, with visitation beginning at 8:00 a.m.
