Registration Opening Soon: IFCA “First Pass” Applicator Training
The Illinois Fertilizer & Chemical Association (IFCA) is excited to introduce a new training opportunity designed specifically for individuals new to pesticide application—the First Pass Applicator Training course. Registration officially opens Monday at IFCA.com, and we encourage members to share this opportunity with new employees and applicators entering the industry.
This two-day, hands-on course is built to provide foundational knowledge and real-world experience. Participants will work through practical scenarios, demonstrations, and group exercises covering all aspects of pesticide use and dry fertilizer application. The goal is simple: equip first-time applicators with the confidence and skills they need to get off to a strong, safe start.
Each session is intentionally limited to 22 attendees to ensure a focused, high-quality learning experience. The course will be led by seasoned instructors Greg Yoder and Gary Cornell, who bring more than 80 years of combined experience in ag retail application.
Two course dates are currently available:
- July 14–15, 2026
- September 15–16, 2026
Training will be held at the Illinois Fertilizer & Chemical Association office in Bloomington, IL, and includes lunch both days. The cost is $500 per attendee.
With limited spots available, early registration is strongly encouraged. Additional classes are planned for 2027.
Registration goes live Monday, May 4th, at IFCA.com, and be sure to secure your spot early.
