IFCA Remembers: James “Jim” Patton
It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of longtime industry member James “Jim” Leon Patton, 78, of Sidell, Illinois, on April 8, 2026.
Jim was the owner and manager of Sidell Agri-Services, where he dedicated his life to serving farmers and building lasting relationships within his community. Known for his strong work ethic, integrity, and humility, Jim exemplified the values that define our industry. Jim was a loyal member to IFCA for many years, and his commitment to agriculture and the people he served left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Beyond his professional contributions, Jim was a devoted husband of 49 years to his wife, Shelley, a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and a man deeply rooted in faith and family. He will be remembered for his kindness, compassion, and willingness to help others—traits that resonated both in his work and personal life.
The visitation will be held today, April 14, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Sidell United Methodist Church, with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 15.
Jim’s legacy lives on through his family, his community, and the many friendships he formed throughout his career. He will be greatly missed.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Patton family during this difficult time.
