CCA Spotlight: Cover Crops and Nutrient Cycling in Illinois Systems

Featuring Dr. Giovani Preza Fontes

Cover crops play a critical role in nutrient cycling, soil health, and long-term system sustainability. In this CCA Spotlight, Dr. Giovani Preza Fontes shares insights from his research on how cover crops interact with nitrogen management across Illinois and Upper Midwest cropping systems—and what that means for improving both productivity and environmental outcomes.
