IFCA Advocates for Members in Washington, D.C.

IFCA was recently in Washington, D.C. representing our members and advocating for the agricultural industry. During the visit, IFCA met with the Illinois congressional delegation, members of the Senate and House Agriculture Committees, the Agricultural Retailers Association, The Fertilizer Institute, CropLife America, and the EPA.

Key topics discussed with senators and representatives included the government shutdown, the farm economy, tariffs, MAHA, and the upcoming Farm Bill.

IFCA also met with Kyle Kunkler, head of pesticide programs at the EPA. We shared our members’ concerns about the new herbicide strategy, particularly regarding the accuracy of the current maps and the practical challenges for applicators. The EPA also provided an update on the anticipated 2026 dicamba label, which they hope to release by the end of this year.

Looking ahead, IFCA and our national partners will host a D.C. fly-in this March to continue engaging with lawmakers. If you’re interested in joining us to meet with your congressional representatives and help shape policy, please reach out. More details will be available as the date approaches.
