America’s Food and Agriculture Organizations Letter to MAHA Commission
IFCA joined 258 farm and agriculture organizations from across the country in a letter to MAHA Commission leaders Secretaries Kennedy, Rollins, and Administrator Zeldin urging them to ensure that food and agriculture representatives have a seat at the table in the development of its policy recommendations, which are due to President Trump by August 12. The letter notes that while technology and innovation enable American farmers to provide a safer, more abundant, and affordable supply of food and agricultural goods, the MAHA Commission’s May 22 report painted a different and inaccurate story about agriculture and our food system. The letter closes in stating that: “America’s farmers and food producers eagerly share in the goal of making our population healthier. However, we are greatly troubled by the work of the MAHA Commission to date, which risks unnecessarily eroding public trust in our food supply.”
