Please Utilize Driftwatch

Two years ago, IFCA, the Illinois Agricultural Aviation Association (IAAA) and the IL Dept of Ag partnered to ensure that the Driftwatch.org website was implemented in Illinois.  This is an effort to build communication and awareness between crop applicators and specialty growers who may have crops sensitive to some products used in grain production.  Since then, many specialty growers, vineyards, organic sites and bee hives have registered on the site, and their location and contact information are accessible.  Pesticide applicators can also register on the site and if any new specialty growers register a site in the trade territory you designate, you will get an automatic email from Driftwatch informing you that a sensitive crop site is located in your trade area.   We encourage you to use the Driftwatch website, it can make you aware of sensitive crops in your territory and put you in touch with those growers so that you can work with them to avoid any conflicts with pesticide applications.  Communication sure beats more regulation.  Click here to access the Driftwatch website for Illinois http://illinois.agriculture.purdue.edu/index.html
