IFCA’s “News Under the Dome” for the Week of March 10th
While legislators have introduced thousands of substantive bills this sessions, with less than two weeks left until the March 21 committee deadline in both chambers, very few bills have advanced out of committees. Some have speculated that the sheer number of bills has led to a slow start that will then give way to a sharp rise in bill action the next couple of weeks, while others believe leadership in both chambers and the Pritzker Administration are trying to tamp-down the number of bills moving this year in what is expected to be a tougher budget year than has been seen under Governor Pritzker's time in office.
