Growers Must be Certified to Handle Anhydrous Ammonia
As we approach the spring season, all growers or grower farm operators who transport or apply anhydrous ammonia, or otherwise maintain anhydrous ammonia equipment, shall be certified. This rule went into effect April 1, 2022. Growers and grower farm operators handling anhydrous ammonia must participate in refresher training every three years. IFCA has prepared a Frequently Asked Questions document you can review and share with your growers. We encourage retail members to print this FAQ document to display in your facility and/or distribute to your grower customers who utilize NH3. To access the FAQ , please click here.
You can sign up for in-person training beginning February 24th by clicking here. There is also an online training option by visiting the Illinois Department of Agriculture's website.
