IFCA is Asking Our Members to Take Action on California Advanced Clean Fleets Waiver Request

IFCA is calling on our members to send a message to the U.S Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to underscore the negative impact that the California Air Resources Board (CARB) waiver request for its Advanced Clean Fleets regulations would have on agricultural retailers and other industries operating heavy-duty diesel trucks.

Why? Because it would mandate them to replace their entire fleet with zero emission vehicles by 2035!

IFCA’s national partner, the Ag Retailers Association has set up a link to send a message with a customized line about why this issue is important to your business and farmer customers. It only takes a few minutes to make your voice heard by federal regulators.

How it Impacts Ag Retail?  The proposed mandate would impose unsustainable costs on motor carriers, cause supply chain disruptions, and require significantly more trucks and drivers to maintain their current hauling capacity. If EPA approves this waiver request, the impact will be felt beyond the state of California as at least 16 states have tied vehicle policies to CARB regulations. This same type of legislation was filed in the State of Illinois spring legislative session.
