House Ag Committee Passes Bipartisan Farm Bill Out of Committee

Shortly after midnight this morning, the House AG Committee passed The Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2024 (Farm Bill) on a 33 to 21 vote. 

IFCA would like to thank all our members that reached out directly to their members of Congress to support this piece of legislation. This important legislation will now be considered for a vote by the full House of Representatives. 

Specifically, IFCA would like to recognize the work towards addressing key issues on behalf of our members. Below is a list of some of the IFCA priorities that are included in the bill which passed out of committee:

• Technical Service Provider (TSP) reforms

• Language ensuring that EPA OPP and State Lead Agencies have the exclusive role in regulating pesticides

• Agricultural Labeling Uniformity Act language to reaffirm EPA’s risk-based role regarding pesticide regulation pesticide preemption) 

• Codifying a plant biostimulant definition

• Listing of potash and phosphate as critical minerals

• Additional funding for ag research

IFCA would like to thank Congressman Mike Bost, Congresswoman Mary Miller, and Congressman Eric Sorensen for supporting the final vote of the farm bill this morning.
