This week IFCA held the Fast Track Program, a program focused on training current college students who will be pursuing a career in the ag retail industry, at the Asmark Agricenter in Bloomington, IL. Local colleges, including Illinois Central College, Lincoln Land Community College and Heartland Community College, brought students Tuesday to receive training on Anhydrous Ammonia, Applicator Safety and Awareness, Hazard Communication and Personal Protective Equipment, Lockout/Tagout and Forklift. On Thursday the students received general standards training from University of Illinois’ Pesticide Safety Education Program and then took the general standards certification exam hosted by the Illinois Department of Agriculture in the afternoon.
