TRANSCAER Ammonia and Ethanol Training

TRANSCAER (Transportation Community Awareness Emergency Response) is a voluntary national outreach effort that focuses on assisting communities to prepare for and to respond to a possible hazardous material transportation incident. On Friday, October 21 and Saturday, October 22 from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm Aventine Renewable Energy, Inc. in Pekin, IL will host an Anhydrous Ammonia Training Tour/Ethanol Safety Seminar. The focus is to educate and train officials on emergency response to anhydrous ammonia and ethanol related incidents. The training is free and open to anyone who would like to attend. The safety seminar will take place at the Aventine Renewable Energy, Inc. club house along the Illinois River. The morning training sessions will focus on anhydrous ammonia safety while the afternoon sessions will focus on ethanol safety.  Lunch will be provided between training sessions. The event is being hosted by Aventine Renewable Energy, Inc., Tazewell & Peoria Railroad, Pekin Fire Department, Cenex Harvest States, Crop Production Services, Grammar Industries, GROWMARK, Inc. and IFCA.
