The American Commercial Barge Line (ACBL) provides a weekly update on major Illinois river conditions.  IFCA members should use this website for updates on both the Mississippi and Illinois river. 

 

ACBL reported this week that there are no boats engaged on the Upper Mississippi above St. Louis due to the flooding conditions and lock closures on the river. ACBL expects all locks north of the IL-WI state line to open mid-week, 05/10. However, they expect lock 17 (south of Muscatine, IA) to open on May 12th, which will continue to drive delays in the Quad Cities area and north. At this time, ACBL can begin moving northbound from St. Louis, going into the river starting on 05/08.
