IFCA Hosting Mini Bulk Recycling
This fall, IFCA will help host four locations so our members can properly recycle mini-bulk containers. Registration forms and recycling guidelines have been mailed out to IFCA members but if you need another copy please contact the IFCA office. If your company has 300-400 mini-bulk containers then a chipper can be brought directly to your facility so the containers can be chipped, bagged and shipped directly to Tri-Rinse in St. Louis, MO. The cost to participate in the recycling program is $15 per container in which you will be invoiced by IFCA once we receive the registration form. There is also an option to deliver containers directly to Tri-Rinse if you do not want to bring them to one of the four collection sites. Collection dates will be determined once all registration forms are submitted to the IFCA office. Collection locations include Conserv FS, Caledonia, IL; Effingham Equity, Montrose, IL; Hull Fertilizer, Hull, IL and Lincoln Land FS, Jacksonville, IL. All containers must be triple rinsed and completely drained with no residue on the container. Although mini-bulk containers do not have to be cut up, we recommend cutting the top off the tank in order for proper cleaning and inspection of tanks. With the new Pesticide Container & Containment Regulation deadline of August 16, 2011 now is a good time to dispose of old mini-bulk containers that will not comply witht he new regulations. If you have any questions regarding the mini-bulk recycling program or the upcoming regulations, please contact Kevin at the IFCA office.
