Bill Chism is the chair of the Endangered Species Committee of the Weed Science Society of America.  He recently retired as a Senior Biologist at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Office of Pesticide Programs (OPP) where his division looked at the benefits of using conventional pesticides.  He grew up on a vegetable farm in California, has a B.S. degree in Entomology from U.C. Davis and a Ph.D. degree in Weed Science from Virginia Tech.  He has worked on the farm, for the extension service, 10 years as a development representative for Rhône-Poulenc Ag Company a pesticide registrant, and worked over 20 years at OPP.  He lives in Maryland with his wife, cats, dogs, and horses.
