Over the last few months there have been a couple of incidents related to applicator and vehicle accidents on the roadway.  One of the most common incidents is when a vehicle driver was not aware the applicator was making a left-hand turn, even though the applicator had signaled his turn.  According to statistics from the Great Plains Center for Agricultural Health, 70% of crashes occur in rural areas, while 30% of crashes occur in urban areas.  For additional information on staying safe on the roadway, the publication from Purdue Extension titled “Keep the Spray Rig on the Road & Out of Trouble” is a excellent resouce to read.
