Turns Out Illinois' Population Isn't Shrinking After All. US Census Says it Undercounted
The population in the Land of Lincoln is apparently not shrinking. In fact, a new report by the U.S. Census Bureau suggests Illinois’ population was undercounted by nearly two percent during the 2020 Census and may have actually grown by more than 250,000 residents since 2010.
The Census Bureau on Thursday released the 2020 Census estimated undercount and overcount rates from its Post-Enumeration Survey, which is designed to determine the accuracy of its decennial count.
