IFCA Meets with President Biden at Kankakee Farm

IFCA President, KJ Johnson, met with President Biden yesterday at a farm outside of Kankakee, IL. IFCA expressed concerns to President Biden and administration officials how crucial the ag input industry is to American agriculture, and how ag retailers and fertilizer manufacturers are on the front lines of stopping food insecurities with the products they sell.

The President announced at the event that the government would be doubling the funding to produce fertilizer domestically, totaling $500 million. This summer, USDA will make money available through a new grant program to support independent, innovative, and sustainable American fertilizer production to supply farmers. The President also discussed the growing concerns regarding inflation and rising diesel fuel and gas prices.
