EPA Will Continue Revamping WOTUS
In an appearance before House appropriators on last week, Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Michael Regan told members of congress that EPA would continue its work on finalizing a pre-2015 definition for “waters of the U.S.”
Despite a pending Supreme Court case on federal wetlands jurisdiction, Reagan said the case “will address some aspects of WOTUS,” but not all of them, Regan said, which will allow EPA to quickly adapt its rule to the Supreme Court’s opinion.
Administrator Regan also repeatedly mentioned the need to coordinate with cabinet secretaries, in particular Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack, on issues including WOTUS and nutrient runoff.
If IFCA receives any other information regarding WOTUS or nutrient runoff, we will keep our membership informed.
