More than 11,000 individuals completed the grower ammonia safety training prior to the April 1 deadline. Those 11,111 individuals have met the new Illinois requirement and are now certified to transport and handle anhydrous ammonia. Growers had two options in order to meet the new requirement; they could either complete an on-line training program or attend an in-person training session.  The preference of the 11,111 growers who completed ammonia training was almost equally divided, with 5,989 opting for the online training and 5,122 participating for in-person training.  We appreciate all of our members who volunteered to become an in-person trainer to train their growers. Because of your participation & commitment, this training program has been a tremendous success.
