2011 Minibulk Recycling Program
IFCA will be offering our members an opportunity to recycle old pesticide minibulks this fall. In early June, watch for a letter explaining the tank registration process and the cleaning instructions. This year we will offer you several opportunities to recycle your old tanks, by either taking them to a designated collection site or we'll offer assistance in helping you transport them directly to Tri-Rinse in St. Louis. The cost to recycle a tank will be $15, the same as in the past. Please start planning now to participate by ensuring that any tank you wish to recycle is triple-rinsed, clean of pesticides residue and also does not contain any rinsate water in the bottom. You should also record what labeled product the tank last contained, just write it on the side of the tank with a marker. You won't have to cut up your tanks but feel free to drill holes in the bottom because that helps ensure that rinsate water has the chance to drain out as you clean the tanks. The collection program will begin in early September 2011. If you have a lot of tanks, you may want to consider offering your facility as a collection site; contact Kevin Runkle to learn more.
