New Guidance on ELDT Curriculum Requirements
IFCA has received many calls and emails over the last few months regarding the curriculum requirements for the new Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) regulations. IFCA has had several conversations with FMCSA for additional guidance on how our members need to train their drivers. Late last week FMCSA did release more information detailing what companies need to be using as a curriculum. ELDT regulations establish the topics and information that must be covered in an entry-level driver training program. When registering in the Training Provider Registry, providers are self-certifying that they meet all ELDT requirements, including the requirements for training curriculum outlined in 49 CFR part 380 appendices A through E.
To assist you in verifying that you meet these requirements, FMCSA has developed the following materials:
ELDT Curriculum Summary - This guide summarizes all the training topics drivers must complete for each license or endorsement type covered by the ELDT regulations. Click Here to download the ELDT Minimum Federal Curricula Requirements.
Training FAQs - FMCSA has posted a number of responses to frequently asked questions on various topics on the Training Provider Registry website. Click Here to read FMCSA FAQs on ELDT
