EPA Announces Comprehensive PFAS Pollution Confrontation Strategy

EPA Administrator Michael Regan announced last week the agency’s comprehensive strategic plan to confront PFAS contamination nationwide.  The Biden administration plans to require chemical manufacturers to conduct aggressive health and environmental testing of these chemicals. More importantly, the approach to testing would group more than 2,000 individual PFAS into roughly 20 different categories of similar substances, allowing the agency to draw safety conclusions more swiftly about more chemicals.  IFCA is currently in discussions with USEPA on this issue and will continue to keep our members informed.
