Ag Committees to Hold Hearings on Funding Issues
IFCA will be one of several ag groups providing testimony on April 16 before the joint House and Senate Agriculture Committee. As you may have heard, the Dept of Ag has been instructed by the administration not to release funding for the Fertilizer Research & Education program, the Cooperative Extension Service, the Soil & Water Conservation Districts, C-FAR and the County Fair Ag Premium funds. While the latter funds are provided by taxpayer dollars, FREC stands unique in that these funds are collected as part of the fertilizer tonnage fee and therefore the money belongs to our industry.
