Pesticide Clean Sweep Program
We periodically get calls from IFCA members who have customers with unwanted or unknown pesticides in their possession. This year, the IL Dept of Ag’s "Clean Sweep" program will take these unwanted pesticides from persons who reside in Clay, Edwards, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Pope, Saline, Wabash, Wayne, and White counties. There is no charge to bring unwanted pesticides to the Clean Sweep event, but the person who has the pesticides MUST pre-register with the IDA before showing up at the waste disposal site. Once registered, they will receive a confirmation from IDA along with a date, time, and location to arrive with their unwanted pesticides.
Click here for information on this program including how to register; you must register unwanted pesticides by Thursday July 22, to participate. Ag retailers cannot participate in this program, but we encourage you to inform your customers of this opportunity and help safely dispose of unwanted pesticides. The program is free of charge and is funded by a grant from USEPA.
