The Prospect for Summer Shows in Agriculture Just Got Brighter

On June 2, in my home state of Ohio, mask mandates will finally be lifted. And across the country, as COVID-19 vaccination rates rise and deaths drop, other states are also following this path. This all bodes well for the industry finally being able to once again meet in person come the summer months to celebrate and, more importantly, take part in trade shows and meetings.  And I for one can hardly wait!

Recently, I had the chance to chat with an industry friend, Jamie Scanlon, Head of Customer Experience at Simplot Grower Solutions. I spent a few days unsuccessfully trying to reach Scanlon via telephone, but I was successful when I reached out via email. It turns out she was “on the road for business” when I had called.

Naturally, not having been on the road for more than 15 months myself, I asked her what that felt like. “Oh my gosh, it’s SO fantastic to travel again!” was Scanlon’s reply. “Most of my travel has been to visit growers and see their farming operations. Talking to them and hearing their stories fills my cup, so I’m happy as can be these days!”
