Train-the-Trainer Sessions and What Retailers need to know about Certified NH3 Grower Training
Train the Trainer Classes: Last Friday we had a great turnout for the first Train the Trainer session held in Bloomington at the Agricenter. We have two remaining schools this week, today in Rock Falls and tomorrow (Feb 19) in Effingham. These classes are for persons experienced with ammonia who want to train farmers under the new regulations for grower training and will also certify attendees as “competent attendants” in order to train farmers on anhydrous ammonia safety.
What Retailers need to know about Certified NH3 Grower Training: IFCA has prepared an educational flyer on certified grower ammonia training requirements along with a sample letter that you can customize in order to send to your growers explaining these requirements. Initial grower certification shall be achieved no later than April 1, 2022 and growers and grower farm operators must participate in refresher training every three years. Click here for the educational flyer and click here for the sample letter for your growers. Both of these documents are also posted on the IFCA website under the "Looking for more information on anhydrous ammonia?" tab.
