NH3 Competent Attendant On-Line Training
Anyone needing to renew their Competent Attendant Certificate to handle anhydrous ammonia or work on ammonia equipment can access this online training by clicking here. This training will also fulfill the certification requirement for any new hires. Click here for the flyer on the on-line program; there will be no classroom events offered this fall.
Key points to remember when accessing the on-line competent attendant training:
►Each individual that needs training must register separately and take the training separately on their work computer or laptop.
►You can print your certificate at the end of the training, a copy of the certificate will also be emailed to you. Check your junk mail in case you do not see the certificate in your inbox.
►The training certificate expires January 01, 2021. The reason for the certificate being only good through the end of the year is because the on-line training is not as comprehensive as what is normally offered in the classroom training.
►The cost for the on-line training is $15. The registration page will accept a credit card. This fee helps to offset the cost of IFCA developing and hosting this program for our industry.
►New hires can access this training, although hands-on training should be combined as well to re-enforce what was learned on-line.
We hope to return to classroom training for the spring 2021 season. If you have questions please contact John Rebholz at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Unified Carrier Registration (UCR) Phone and E-Mail Scams
Beware of UCR scammers contacting you in order to file your 2021 UCR payments. These are scams, these service companies will add an outrageous service fee to your bill should you accept their services. You cannot pay your URC until after October 1st with the deadline for filing being December 31, 2020. Fees will remain the same as they are for 2020 and are currently listed on the UCR website.
CDL Medical Cards, Endorsements, Licenses need to be current by September 30
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has been very flexible in allowing essential CDL drivers to operate while state driver service facilities were closed or limited in the number of people that can enter the facilities. The FMCSA has extended the deadlines for CDL license renewals, endorsements and medical cards until September 30, 2020; see the FMCSA bulletin here. However, you should be working at this point to get your CDL items renewed, and many CDL physicians are taking appointments for medical exams. All Illinois Secretary of State driver services offices are also open. The Sec of State encourages everyone to get current on your license renewals and exams and not wait until the last minute.
