Dicamba Update
The IL Dept of Ag reports they have received 125 pesticide misuse complaints attributed to dicamba applications this season. Some of these complaints are directed at application that occurred after the June 25 cut-off date in Illinois. USEPA has indicated they hope to reach a decision soon on the registration of the 4 dicamba products that have been approved in the past for over the top applications on soybean. Ag groups are urging a decision on the labels soon in order for retailers and farmers to plan for the upcoming 2021 season. Last week environmental groups, including the Prairie Rivers Network in Illinois, released a 44 page report on dicamba use in agriculture titled "Drifting Toward Disaster."
