Residents from several states, including Illinois, have recently received unsolicited packages in the mail containing seed. Some of these packages are believed to be from China as they have Chinese writing on them. As of right now it is unknown if the seeds are those of an invasive species that could potentially impact our agricultural industry or environment. For this reason, it is recommended that anyone who received one of these unsolicited packages contact the Illinois Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Ag Products Inspection 217-782-3817.
