Remembering Glen Brandt, Illinois and National Industry Leader
At a time of turmoil in our country and in our industry, it is even more meaningful today to remember and honor a man who embodied integrity, a strong sense of purpose in good times and bad, and an unwavering belief in all that is good about life, and especially agriculture.
Glen Brandt, the founder of Brandt Consolidated, died peacefully yesterday at the age of 94. He did not just start a successful ag retail company, he gave his time and passion to the industry he loved to help give ag retailers a voice and strong presence in Illinois agriculture. He provided meaningful leadership for the industry, serving as one of the founders of the IFCA. He also served on the ARA board and the National Fertilizer Solutions board. He was a man of faith, a strong supporter of his community and a great friend to many. GB's obituary including information on services and remembrances, is here.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to Glen's family, and to the Brandt family of employees. To GB they were one and the same. We will miss his warmth and his integrity. He would want us all to remain optimistic and to work hard for better days, better results, and better lives. God blessed us all with his wonderful life.
