The emergency oversize and overweight waiver granted by Illinois DOT on April 12 for essential industries during the pandemic expired on May 29, 2020.  All loads without a permit must return to their normal allowances (80,000 lbs) and axle limits.  

 

Also, the Secretary of State offices are re-opening this week statewide but are going to focus on expired drivers licenses and vehicle transactions.  CDL drivers can go to the offices again as well to obtain what you need for your CDL.  Be sure to get your medical cards updated if they had expired, as most DOT doctors are now scheduling DOT physicals again.
