Remaining Pesticide Training & Testing Sites Cancelled - Licenses Extended

The Illinois Dept of Agriculture and the UI Extension announced late yesterday that they have cancelled all the pesticide applicator training and testing clinics for the remainder of the clinic session.  You also cannot schedule or walk-in to take applicator exams at the Springfield of Dekalb IDA offices until further notice.  UI will contact all those who registered for the clinics and will work to issue refunds for those who paid to attend the upcoming clinics.
The Illinois Dept of Ag will extend applicator and operator licenses that expired on December 31, 2019 until December 31, 2020.  They have assured the industry that for individuals seeking certification for the first time in general standards or any category, that future training and testing opportunities will be available at some point in time.  We will keep you posted as we learn what those opportunities may be, or what other options IDA may employ depending on the length of the COVID-19 situation.
Some businesses may also have issues securing drug and alcohol testing through hospital programs.  The business industry as a whole is working with federal and state governments on these and many issues affecting businesses and the supply chain, and we expect more information will be coming regarding options for compliance.
