With both recreational and medicinal use of marijuana now legal in Illinois, what do you need to do as an employer to protect your company and your employees in this new era?  At the IFCA convention last week, we had a great speaker (Jay Shattuck) explain the Illinois regulation and provisions available to employers to manage this issue.  We recommend that your company's drug use/drug testing/drug free workplace policies include the procedures and protections afforded by law to Illinois employers.  The Illinois Chamber of Commerce provides a compliance toolkit to help employers with these policies, and for a minimal charge you can download the programs and put a protective policy in place.
