It is with a heavy heart that we share with you that Mark Tarter, co-owner of Tarter Feed & Fertilizer in Canton, Illinois passed away on Sunday.  Mark was 59.  He had battled cancer for over a decade, many times overcoming serious setbacks but always keeping his sense of humor and zest for life.  We send our condolences and prayers to his mother Marilyn Tarter, brother and business partner Kevin (Tiffani) Tarter, his daughter Kayleen, nephew Austin and niece Cassidy, and the many friends whose lives he enriched with his presence in theirs.  

 

Mark's obituary is here and includes details on the visitation and a memorial service this Thursday afternoon, October 31 in Canton.  Mark served two full terms on the IFCA Board and was Chairman in 2008.  We've lost a man who cared deeply for his family and this industry, and who always maintained an upbeat attitude and had a funny story to tell.  We will miss our friend.
