Taiwan commits to $2.2 billion in Illinois soybean, corn purchase
There’s some good news for corn and soybean farmers here in Illinois.
Governor JB Pritzker has announced a $2.2 billion commitment from Taiwan to purchase Illinois corn and soybeans.
The purchase will be made over the next two years.
The Illinois Director of Agriculture said the trade partnership is especially meaningful, given the difficult year farmers have faced.
Illinois is the top soybean producing state and second largest producer of corn in the nation.
