Virgil Harbach, one of the founders of H G & N - Harbrand Inc. passed away yesterday, June 26, at the age of 92. 

 

For the many in our industry who knew Virgil, and for those who only knew his name, we can say simply that he was uniformly admired, respected and beloved for his contributions to the industry over many years.  He helped form what is today's Illinois retail fertilizer industry and was one of the founding members not only of the company that still bears his name, but was also instrumental in the establishment of the IFCA--an organization that he helped create in order to represent and assist the industry as a whole.
