The Safety School at MAGIE: The Go-To Meeting for Industry Updates
For almost 20 years, attendees of the annual Midwest AG Industries Exposition (MAGIE) have had the chance to arrive a few days early to learn about the latest developments in safety and regulatory
affairs. This will be the case again at the 2018 MAGIE event in Bloomington, IL. Safety School will last for a day and a half, starting Tuesday,
Aug. 21, at 7:30 a.m., and wrapping up Wednesday, Aug. 22, at 11:30 a.m.
According to the Asmark Institute, which runs the program in conjunction with MAGIE sponsor Illinois Fertilizer and Chemical Association (IFCA), the Safety School “is focused on delivering those in the agricultural industry a unique opportunity to gain valuable insight into a host of regulatory topics facing the industry.”
The program includes several national speakers from industry, state, and federal agencies who present information on “timely and relevant topics important to ag retailers.” The number of attendees ranges from 130 to 150, with most of these folks responsible for environment, health, and safety from all over the country. On average, Asmark says, approximately 70% are repeat participants every year.
