IFCA Remembers Don Van Lyssel
It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of IFCA member Don Van Lyssel. Don passed away suddenly this past Saturday.
Don dedicated his career to the agribusiness industry and was a very active member of the IFCA, serving on our Convention Committee for many years. He shared his ideas freely and was very creative, particulary when it came to developing our convention themes. Don was a wealth of knowledge and knew so many people; he always had time to help you no matter what you needed.
Don began his career in agriculture in the 1960s and for the last 16 years, established his own recruiting/consulting firm called Career Paths Unlimited. Don was a true professional, detailed and precise, and he truly loved using his talents to serve others in the industry. He mentored many and was kind to all. True to his word, he said he would never retire while he was doing what he loved.
Don's obituary can be accessed here. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Decatur, IL at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 15. Visitation will be immediately preceeding the Mass, also at our Lady of Lourdes, at 10:00 a.m.
We send our condolences to Cyndi, Don's wife of 50 years, and to his two daughters, son and granchildren. He will always be warmly remembered for his contributions to the ag industry and for his positive, cheerful attitude, his smile and his laughter.
Cards and condolences can be sent to:
