Two years ago, IFCA supported legislation that eliminated the annual renewal requirement for pesticide applicator and operator licenses.  Instead, once you pass your certification exam, you will get a 3 year license and pay $180 instead of having to do renewal paperwork every year and paying 1/3 of that fee.  

 

It does take a little while to transition everyone to the 3 year license depending on when you took your general standards and other license categories.  When you get your renewals this year, you may notice that some in your company will pay a different fee than others or have their categories for testing required to be updated now; this is normal and part of the transition process.  Just be patient, by next year the transition will be nearly complete and everyone will be on a 3 year cycle, eliminating extra paperwork on your end and the State's end.
