USEPA & Dicamba Label; IFCA Dicamba BMPs
IFCA's goal is to assure a better experience for pesticide applicators and for farmers next year. IFCA has developed a Best Management Practice Guide for dicamba use. The basis of the BMPs are this: if a grower plants Xtend soybeans, and intends to have them treated with dicamba, then the grower should communicate with neighboring farmers and avoid, if at all possible, planting Xtend soybeans directly up against a sensitive soybean field. There are also steps that applicators (both private and commercial) can take to assure a successful application and protect sensitive soybeans. IFCA is waiting for USEPA to make their label adjustments, then we will release the BMP document to our members as well as to farm groups and the ag media. Stay tuned.
