4R Code of Practice
As thoughts turn to the fall fertilizer season, please help to support the IFCA 4R Code of Practice. The practices defined in the Code outline our industry's commitment to the 4Rs of nutrient stewardship and support sound agronomic practices for both fall and spring fertilizer application. Click here to access the Code of Practice. Many lakes in Illinois saw improvements with lower nitrate levels this past year, thanks in large part to better nutrient utilization, made possible by sound nutrient management practices across many acres. Keep up the good work as we head into fall, please urge your customers to follow the 4Rs; it is the roadmap to better nutrient utilization and demonstrates our voluntary commitment to protecting Illinois water supplies as well as the water that leaves our state.
