IFCA Gives Overview of NH3 Rules and PSM for Ammonia Contractors

We recognize that the companies that provide ammonia equipment and plumbing/piping/installation services to our industry will be critical partners in ensuring that changes to ammonia storage locations comply with the new Illinois anhydrous storage regulations as well as OSHA Process Safety Management regulations.  Last week after MAGIE ended, IFCA hosted all the contractors at the Asmark Agricenter where we reviewed with them the new rules so they could be up to speed on how to help our ag retail members comply with these new requirements.  Those who attended included Rocket Supply, Dibble Enterprises, Paul Akers, Fertilizer Dealer Supply, SF Welding, Squibb Taylor, Continental NH3 Products, Dultmeier Sales, Jenner Sales, AAK Mechanical and Trinity Containers.  IFCA also thanks Allen Summers of the Asmark Institute for helping to provide detailed information on the PSM rules.  The goal is to ensure that everyone who stores NH3 in Illinois is provided with help from many angles to comply with these rules to ensure proper installation, compliance and improved safety for our industry.  As you embark upon this compliance effort, please also know that IFCA is here to help with any questions you have or if you need advice.  Please call our office at 309.827.2774 for assistance.  IFCA has a detailed ammonia compliance guide posted on our website at www.ifca.com.
