Pesticide Container Recycling Schedule
The Illinois Department of Agriculture has released the pesticide container recycling schedule for 2016. The first event starts on July 26, and there are a total of 31 collection sites around the state running through August 26. There are also three permanent sites where you can call and make an appointment to drop off containers at any time during the year. IFCA thanks our ag retail members who volunteer to host these collection sites. To see the schedule, click here or go to our website at www.ifca.com. The containers accepted in this free program must be HDPE #2 plastic and all caps, labels, booklets and foil seals must be removed. The containers must also be triple rinsed prior to being dropped off at the site. For the recycling of larger pesticide containers, we have found that the ReturnNet system provides a good service for IBC pesticide containers. You can view their collection program at www.returnnetsystem.com.
